Course Description
Every clinician is faced with a constant stream of papers claiming new breakthroughs — but publication alone doesn't guarantee scientific truth. This workshop builds the critical appraisal skills to tell strong evidence from flawed evidence and apply it safely at the bedside. After a pre-test and an orientation to the evidence hierarchy, participants rotate through hands-on stations dissecting an RCT, decoding a forest plot from a systematic review, and pitching an evidence-based protocol change to a panel in a closing "Shark Tank" style session.

Dr. Ibrahim Al Nabhani
Instructor
Assistant Professor of Hematology at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, and Consultant Hematologist at the National Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Center, University Medical City, Muscat. Holds an MSc in Community Health (Health Practitioner Teacher Education) from the University of Toronto and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from McMaster University. His academic interests span evidence-based medicine, clinical epidemiology, medical education, hematologic malignancies, stem-cell transplantation, and cellular therapy, and he is actively involved in curriculum development, EBM teaching, assessment reform, and clinical research. Facilitates the Forest Plot / systematic review station.
